Supermoto Saturday/NASS rider highlight episode 5

It's Saturday again and on this week's Supermoto Saturday we're talking about Jake Laforge! Jake is 32 years old. He's from Ashburnham Massachusetts and started riding at the age of 5 when his parents got him a Honda Z50 for Christmas, falling in love with motorcycles instantly. Long winters made riding dirt bikes hard at that age. Once the weather warmed he would ride every day like it was an obsession until the cold came back around. Shortly after, he started racing flat track. At 11 he started racing motocross. He continued to race moto the majority of the time until this guy named Aaron Phinney introduced him to Supermoto. The natural that Jake was at flat track and motocross made things easy around a supermoto track. Quickly rising through the local and national ranks. His local series is SMEC Supermoto where he races all over the Northeast. Jake has even raced the world's most prestigious supermoto event in Mettet Belgium. His favorite thing about supermoto is the precision and accuracy it takes to perform at the highest level, switching from road racing techniques to flat track and moto techniques the whole race. It takes a well rounded rider to do well in supermoto and that's why more often than not we will see these guys with a diverse riding background. Jake's biggest supporter is his life partner and partner in crime Chelsea. His favorite motorcycle rider is James Stewart and favorite supermoto rider is Dustin Hoffman. "He's just so fun to watch" (Jake's words) His future goals are to race Mettet again and to win the North American Supermoto Shootout in a couple months. Jake is one of the coolest people off the track with a great personality. If you see this guy at the track don't be afraid to talk to him. Thanks Jake!!

Venmo @NASSPURSE. If you would like to donate to the prize money for the upcoming North American Supermoto Shootout taking place in Norman OK Oct 28th. These guys get little recognition and even less money to attend the races they love and compete so much for. Any amount will help. If you don't have a venmo please inbox me for other options. You can also look at all of my previous rider profiles on the SMR magazines website https://www.smrmagazine.com/kennys-slide I would like to thank everyone for the support. We have gathered up $1000 so far with this little project!! Tune in next week for another rider!
