Supermoto Saturday / NASS rider highlight episode 2
This week's Supermoto Saturday we're going to talk about Tim Velasquez! Timmy is 40 years old and lives in Denver Colorado. He started riding dirt bikes on a PW50 at the age of 3 in 1986. His dad and grandpa were both flat track racers, you can see that heritage in Timmys riding style. He says his Grandma Dottie has always been his biggest supporter through all these years of racing. As a kid he raced moto often and in 98 he even qualified for Loretta Lynn's, the largest amateur motocross race that there is. Finishing 2nd in his class on a 125. He first started racing supermoto in 2010, quickly taking to it. Finishing 2nd overall in the USA pro supermoto championship in 2012. In 2013 he was able to race in Mettet Belgium. The largest Supermoto race in the world where racers from all over the globe come to race. He pulled off a 21st overall! Timmy is known to never fold under pressure by other racers and truly makes you earn his position, pushing hard and not giving in. He has been known to collapse after returning to the pits. Leaving absolutely nothing out on the track, true grit and determination with a warrior mentality. His favorite all time rider is James Stewart and his favorite SM rider is Sean Butterman . He has 0 road racing experience and hasn't raced flat track, just a natural on a supermoto bike. Let's give thanks to Timmy V and his contribution to Supermoto.
